"Swim" is my newest piece. I did this with acrylic paint on a 14"x11" aquabord. This will be making its first show appearance this weekend at Spectrum Fantastic Art Live! in Kansas City, MO. If you're attending the show, drop by booth #119 and check it out. I'll have it on display with several other original pieces.

Wishing you all the best!

It's been a bit since I've posted here and for that I apologize. I've been very busy creating new artwork and getting ready for several upcoming shows. I've even done a couple of smaller ones in the meantime. I've also been very active on the Timberline Draw Blog of late. If you've not seen that yet, you should definitely check it out. It's an art blog with a weekly theme ... contributors are all Colorado-based artists/cartoonists.

I'll be appearing tomorrow night at the Denver Comic Con Second Saturday Splash! at The Walnut Workshop from 7pm to 11pm. I'll have several new prints, sketchbooks and more on display / for sale.

Next weekend is the Spectrum Fantastic Arts Live! event in Kansas City, MO. I'll be one of 200 exhibitors on hand for what will be an amazing show. To be honest, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with this show. I'm going to be a very small fish in that pond. Looking forward to learning much while there.

The weekend following that one I'll be in Seattle for Crypticon. It'll be great to catch up some great folks ... the Permuted Press gang, Nick Gucker, the Creator's Edge Press guys and many many more. If I've failed to mention you that doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to seeing you. It just means that my mind is reeling from all of the things that I have going on right now.

Two weeks after Crypticon, I'll be in Albuquerque for the 2012 Albuquerque Comic Expo. My traveling companions this year will be Kevin Gentilcore, Matt Campbell and Tom Rasch. Should be a fun show. They've expanded the artist alley, from what I hear, and there are going to be even more guests than last year.

The weekend following ACE, I'll be exhibiting at the Denver Comic Con. This being their inaugural year means it should be very exciting.

The schedule thins out a bit after that. I'll be heading out to San Diego Comic Con again this year (in July) and then I'll have a couple of months to catch my breath before a few appearances in October. Those include the Mile High Horror Film Festival, MileHiCon (tentatively scheduled), and Son of Monsterpalooza.

I have a lot of new artwork that I'd love to share with you. The easiest way to do that is to invite you to visit the "Illustration" page of my site.

Thanks for allowing me to ramble.

All the best!

"Stories from the Chapel" acrylic painting by Robert Elrod

Here's a short time lapse video that I made from the photos I took of my painting "Stories from the Chapel". The painting is to be auctioned off to benefit www.fixthechapel.com (a project to restore the Evans City Cemetery Chapel as seen in the opening scenes of George Romero's "Night of the Living Dead").

Please feel free to share it. Thanks!

"Stories from the Chapel"

"Stories from the Chapel" ... acrylic on 11"x14" cradled wood panel by Robert Elrod. I'll be donating this original painting to help with fundraising efforts to restore the Evans City Cemetery Chapel, made famous by George Romero's "Night of the Living Dead".

The painting will also be used for an anthology by the same name that will also be donating proceeds to the cause. For more information about "Save the Chapel" please visit www.fixthechapel.com.

All the best!

I finished this a few days ago. Here's "Outshined" for your amusement. The original piece is approximately 14.75"x11" on illustration board and created with ink and ink wash. The final piece was scanned and colorized using a Cintiq and Adobe Photoshop.

Hope you enjoy it.

Happy new year!
