Some Days Suck, Some Days Suck Worse

Here's a glimpse of my latest work. This is the black & white version (underpainting) of a piece I'm doing for the cover of "Some Days Suck, Some Days Suck Worse" by Michael Kozlowski. I'm showing the initial sketch as well as the finished black & white digital painting that I did in Photoshop using a Cintiq.

This is the first piece that I've worked up completely with the Cintiq. This is also the first time I'm utilizing the "natural brushes" in Photoshop. I can't remember now my reasons for avoiding these brushes. They take a little getting used to but I'm really starting to like them.

I'll post the colorized version once that's completed. The type is designed but will need a little more work once the artwork is fully colored. You'll get to see that here on the blog as well.
